Building Committee

 

The Building Committee ensures that HFHRV has adequate real estate available for home construction and provides technical advice on construction projects.  The Committee also ensures the affiliate is successfully fulfilling its mission in building partnerships by providing opportunities for prospective homeowners and community volunteers to participate in the construction process.

The Building Committee includes in its membership individuals who are not members of the Board of Directors.  Members agree to serve on the committee for a period of at least one year.  The Chair of the Building Committee will be a member of the Board of Directors.

The duties and responsibilities of the Building Committee include the following:

Recruiting and training Committee members

bullet

Recommending suitable property for acquisition to the Board of Directors, including evaluating donations.

Overseeing site development from construction to project completion

bullet

Developing appropriate house styles which are compatible with neighborhoods

bullet

Providing technical advice and support regarding supplies, materials and labor

bullet

Coordinating vendor work

bullet

Providing assistance to affiliate in obtaining and coordinating construction volunteers including house leaders and Builders Club members.
