Community Relations Committee

 

The Community Relations Committee is responsible for providing education and community awareness of  HFHRV's mission and our goal of helping to revitalize neighborhoods and eliminate poverty housing.  The Committee works to ensure understanding of, and build support for, the work of our affiliate.

The Community Relations Committee includes in its membership individuals who are not members of the Board of Directors.  Members agree to serve on the committee for a period of at least one year.  The Chair of the Community Relations Committee will be a member of the Board of Directors.

The duties and responsibilities of the Community Relations Committee include the following:

Recruiting and training Committee members

bullet

Designing and implementing public relations strategies necessary to promote the affiliate's mission among public, private, municipalities and others

bullet

Developing contacts with a variety of print, electronic, and other public medial and coordinating distribution of PSA's , press releases, etc.

bullet

Conducting neighborhood meetings/notification prior to builds

bullet

Serving as special events coordinating body

bullet

Writing affiliate's newsletter and Web page maintenance
