House Leader-Construction

 

HOUSE LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION

The House Leader's job is to organize construction so the goals are met by the end of the day and the home is completed in a quality and timely manner. Should be familiar with construction work and will work closely with Habitat's construction manager to keep the project on track. The house leader should be supported by crew leaders to supervise and coordinate work on site.

The House Leader's duties during the construction of a home are:

bulletHouse leader plans the building schedule and oversees construction.
bulletHouse leader lists tasks needed to be accomplished that day and match crew leaders with crew members to do each task.
bulletHouse leader is responsible for the day's schedule, job safety and maintaining the quality of workmanship.
bulletHouse leader ensures that all volunteers and homeowners have meaningful work and are trained in tool usage and job skills.
bulletHouse leader pays particular attention to the homeowner and keeps him/her informed.
bulletHouse leader picks up miscellaneous supplies and materials as needed.
bulletHouse leader has morning devotions.
bulletHouse leader signs work forms for homeowners.
bulletHouse leader maintains communication with Construction Manager regarding project status, purchases, etc.

 

A House Leader's duties when construction is competed are as follows:

bulletHouse leader completes a punch list walk through with the homeowner and Habitat staff prior to the dedication.
bulletHouse leader follows through on the punch list repairs in a timely manner. (No later than 30 days)

House leader completes all warranty work during the 12-month period following dedication.
