Currently, the average estimated cost of building a Habitat home is $85,000. Habitat requests $50,000 from a sponsor to fully fund a home, $25,000 to co-sponsor a home, or $12,500 for a partial sponsorship. There are also other sponsorships available in which a sponsor adopts a portion of the home. Tax credits are generally available to companies who wish to sponsor a Habitat home. Sponsorship funds are utilized to purchase the major portion of the building materials for the home. Individuals, churches, businesses and recycled homeowner mortgage payments provide the additional monies needed. For more information, email info@habitat-roanoke.org. |
