The Builder’s Club

The heart of the Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley Volunteer Program is a core group of builders referred to as “The Builders Club.” Builders Club members are volunteers who come out to work with Habitat each Wednesday and Saturday that they can.  Some start out with a significant amount of construction experience and others come only with an open heart and an interest in learning all about our building process.

All members are on our email list and receive information detailing the work scheduled for each build day. Additionally, Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley celebrates these dedicated volunteers every quarter with special social events as well as a 20% discount at the Habitat ReStore. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Builder’s Club, please contact our Volunteer and Faith Relations Manager at

volunteer opportunities

General Construction

If you would like to help on one of our construction sites, we would love to have your help. No experience is necessary, but all volunteers must be at least 16 years old. The work day is always 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. View the available dates online sign-up sheets above to officially register for a work day.

Habitat will provide all of the necessary tools and equipment. Volunteers will need to bring their own lunch, refillable water bottle and we strongly suggest their own work gloves.

ReStore Volunteer

If construction is not your thing, we would love to have your help at the Habitat ReStore! The ReStore sells new and used furniture, home goods, and building supplies and the proceeds go to help fund the building of Habitat homes. We always need help processing donations, stocking shelves, and helping customers. The ReStore uses volunteers Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in whatever shift works for you. To sign up contact our Volunteer and Faith Relations Manager at or at 540-344-0747 extension 110.

General volunteers need to be at least 15 years old to work independently. Volunteers 12-14 years old may work side-by-side with a guardian adult. No one 11 years or younger is permitted to volunteer in the ReStore.
